Now it's your turn:  Send me some creative ideas about how you exercise YOUR animals!

5 Ways to Exercise Your Animal  - Unabridged!
This Page is for Students ONLY!
Dog People - The last time I was in a large city, I saw the
sidewalks near dwellings at the end of the day, filled with
people walking their dogs while on their cell phones.  Now,
take just a moment to think about this FROM YOUR
ANIMALS perspective--  These furry people dutifully wait in
the house ALL DAY for us to return home to them, and when
we finally do and take them out for a walk, their human still is
not WITH them?  Instead, is walking them while on a cell
phone?  Hummm.  Does it sound like a fair trade here? So how
about it?  How about putting the cell down BEFORE you go
out the door and joining your animal in a walking, loving,
sharing, moving meditation!
So Dog People, TRY IT!  (And let me know what happens.)
Horses People -Equine people you know it takes
many of our steps to equal one of our horses strides,
(Icelandics excluded).  Yet the horses tell me that when
their humans take the time to walk next to them
BEFORE riding them, their humans are more relaxed.
In fact I had one horse ask me to ask her person to
please make that time and to do it so that she could
meditate WITH her.  The horse said that
walking-together time was her only opportunity to get
her person's attention.  So horse people,
TRY IT!  (And let me know how you do!)
Cat People - Do you really expect to sleep at night when you
come home late and spill into bed WITHOUT playing with your
furry feline?  If you don't get out those favorite toys and run those
felines wild, or sit outside in the mornings before leaving for work
sipping your tea while you watch your favorite huntress
demonstrate the latest in stalking techniques, YOU WILL PAY!
Creating time for your cats to express themselves in ways other than
watching you get ready for work, will have great rewards.  That
Maze Box, while entertaining even when alone, has MUCH
HIGHER stakes when being watched
by one's human!
TRY IT! (Let me know if you sleep better at night.)
Fish People - Enticing the family cat to stalk
the fish tank is not the best for building
interspecies communication.  (Yes fish get
scared.)  Did you KNOW that clicker training
works for your aquatic friends as well?  So how
about committing to exercising and creating
new 'gliding patterns' this spring?  Your finned
companions will appreciate it and you can even
win money off of friends who won't believe it
until they see it!
TRY IT!  (I don't need a cut, but would love to
hear about your millions!)
All animals have individual physical needs, but ALL animals need one-on-one time with
their humans too. (Sorry, watching Animal Planet re-runs do not count!)  So how about
the best of both worlds?
Bird People - One of the best exercises I have ever heard
was a man who actually took his parrot on bicycle rides
every evening.  He said his bird would swoop a hed of him
and wait on trees until he passed ahead and then would
catch up with him.  Wow!  Can't you just see this!  But for
those of us who don't have birds that care about traffic
patterns, how about the Dancing-in-the-House activities.
Place your lovely feathered companion on your finger and
simulate climbing and diving and let your bird extend his
wings to their full length stretching and feeling breeze in
their beaks.  OK Bird People, GO DANCE!
GIZMO the dancer!
